Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Unleashes Its Biggest and Scariest Fright Fest Ever

More Fright-Filled Nights and New Scare Zones Highlight This Year’s Event

Fright Fest® is back at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom to unleash more fear than ever before with six full weekends beginning Friday, September 21. Northern California’s biggest Halloween event leaves no tombstone unturned to deliver what guests want most…an all-out terrifying experience.

Fright Fest boasts 10 electrifying haunted attractions including two ALL-NEW haunts — Demon’s Liar haunted maze and Scarecrows Hollow scare zone. Nightmarish ghouls and zombies, along with rides in the dark on the park’s incredible collection of monster coasters, transform the Thrill Capital of California from a theme park to a scream park.

“We have added a new maze, a new scare zone and more iconic characters to an already over the top, scary Halloween event,” stated Park President Don McCoy. “Every year we dial up the fear factor with new and innovative experiences for our guests and this year will be the best Fright Fest ever.”

Guests can enjoy Thrills By Day with family-friendly entertainment, but after the sun sets, it’s Fright By Night and all hell breaks loose. Fright By Night is not recommended for children under 12 and those who scare easily.

The lineup of Fright by Night activities include: Haunted Mazes (*Additional fee required)

  • New in 2018: Demon’s Lair, dare to enter the place where evil truly dwells. Satan and his world of lost souls are out at night and they are lurking around every corner.
  • St. Hades Hospital, Is there a doctor in the house? A hospital with a history of leaving its patients in pieces.
  • Carnevil, evil lurks under the big top tent as clowns, clowns, and more clowns make the worst nightmares come true.
  • Arsenic and Arania’s Nightmare Manor, eccentric twins fend for themselves in this 13-room manor. Venture into the dark, gothic setting to face the madness and mind games.
  • Captain Bloat’s Shipwreck of Horror, remnants of a 200-year old shipwreck are guarded by the ghost of an evil pirate. Captain Bloat is determined to ensure no one gets close enough to find the treasure.
  • Scrapyard of the Dead, the workers of this ominous, yet raucous junkyard are dead, but they do not know it. They wander aimlessly around the grounds, adding to their stockpile of scraps and debris.

  • New in 2018: Scarecrows Hallow, scarecrows come to life and this army of the undead will not be happy if you stomp on their crops of evil gourds.\
  • Sawmill Pass, dense fog combined with the deathly sounds of a running sawmill and zombies and ghouls lurking in the mist combine for an eerie experience.
  • Mt. Rotting Cemetery, this cemetery ground is a haven for the living dead. After a visit to this dilapidated cemetery, find out what drives the dead to go after the living.
  • Arachnid Alley, arachnophobia can be a very real fear when there are gigantic spiders everywhere.
