Guests riding Comet

The Best of the Best Needs One More Fan.

You’ll see it on the map, looming over the whole park, before you even step foot on a ride.

The massive 4,200-foot wooden coaster that forms an immense back wall of the park has an unbelievable history. Part of it was first built in 1927. It was known as Cyclone way back then, and it was famous in its day for being one of the most thrilling rides on earth. It was rebuilt in 1947 and redesigned into a space shooter when it was renamed The Comet. It then delivered another 40+ years of nonstop coaster bliss to generations of riders. The Comet later arrived at The Great Escape to begin the modern phase of its life.

Widely regarded as one of the hands-down best wooden roller coasters in the world, The Comet will blow you away with its perfect layout of high-airtime drops of up to 85 feet. All that practice has resulted in a finely calibrated ride that will knock your socks off in the way only a classic wooden ride can. Out and back over hill after glorious hill, you will feel the history in the bones of this beautiful piece of architecture, and you will become a part of that history, just by riding it.

Beware of what lurks The Comet, creatures have been known to attack riders at the depths of this ride’s descent with a dark hunger.

Staff members at The Great Escape have reported seeing animals, of some sort, but these crass creatures are so quick and so secretive, that staff can’t make out what they are. Be on the lookout these animals are highly dangerous with a dark hunger.

It’s been understood these spotting have become more and more frequent in the past years the origin of the sightings have been scattered but a majority just behind The Comet. These monsters feast on the refuse they find but when the pickens are low they venture outside of their hunting ground and make their way to the park. The beasts hunt in packs, trapping their helpless prey in the shadows. They congregate on the edges of the forest behind The Comet.

You know you’re in danger if you hear the deafening shrills of these unknown begins as they call to one another right before they devour there pray. Feeding time changes animals beyond recognition and this case is no different. They become aggressive and unafraid of humans. Their eyes develop weeping sores that burn, as they stretch a dripping paw toward the sweetest part they can find. Bits of flesh and hair can be seen, caught between their long and flaking claws. Teeth shoot into fangs, while their drooling tongues wipe the slime from their smirking lips.

Whatever lurks the edge of park feeds on innocent riders as they wait to enter The Comet, it’s for your safety we advise you stay with a crowd.
