Community Programs at The Great Escape

Six Flags Friends is a series of programs throughout the Six Flags family of parks that make a difference in the community by encouraging local involvement, supporting the mission of various non-profit organizations and bringing the thrill of Six Flags to children and families across North America.

Six Flags Friends is a proud supporter of hundreds of organizations throughout our Six Flags communities. Through our national partnerships, we successfully utilize our geographic span to make a difference as a unified family of parks. Through our donation program, we are able to contribute to many local organizations.

Project 6 Day of Service

Through our annual Project 6 Day of Service, The Great Escape is able to contribute vital assistance to an individual, family, or non-profit organization in the community to help reach their goals. To apply for assistance or learn more about The Great Escape's Project 6 Day of Service program please click the link below.

The Great Escape is pleased to support the work of many local organizations that continually influence our cities making them a better place to live, work and play. The following list is a small sampling of our efforts:

Double H Ranch
The Double H Ranch, founded by Charles R. Wood and actor Paul Newman, provides specialized programs and year-round support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. These children are precluded from attending other camps but can attend the Double H because of the high-quality medical care they receive while in attendance. The Ranch also offers family-based support weekends in the spring and fall for families facing critical illnesses and the loss of loved ones. All programs are completely FREE OF CHARGE. Six Flags Friends is privileged to open our hearts and the gates of The Great Escape to the children of the Double H Ranch each week during our operating season. In addition, Six Flags Friends is proud to host the Double H Ranch Gala at The Great Escape each summer.

For more information on the Gala, please call Robin DeMattos at the Double H Ranch Development Office at 518-696-5921 ext. 228.

Make-A-Wish Foundation
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation had enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Great Escape is proud to be a part of this amazing wish-granting organization and is excited to fulfill the wishes of children who dream of visiting the park.
St. Jude's Children Research Hospital
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is one of the world's premier centers for research and treatment of catastrophic diseases in children, primarily pediatric cancers. Six Flags Friends and The Great Escape donate a portion of ticket proceeds during the months of September and October to help St. Jude Children's Hospitals in the fight to overcome pediatric diseases. To make a contribution to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, visit your local Price Chopper and purchase a Great Escape Season Pass during the months of September and October.
Fresh Air Fund: State Police Summer Program
Since 1877, The Fresh Air Fund has provided free summer vacations in the country to more than 1.7 million New York City children from disadvantaged communities. In conjunction with the State Police Summer Program, Six Flags Friends is happy to take a breath of fresh air with the children of the Fresh Air Fund vacationing in upstate New York.
American Red Cross Blood Drive
Six Flags Friends is privileged to partner with the Adirondack-Saratoga of the American Red Cross by hosting an annual blood drive each October at The Great Escape. Donors that participate in this unique "bloodletting" receive a FREE ticket to Fright Fest.
YMCA of Glens Falls
Glens Falls YMCA was organized in 1887 by a group of men from the local community in response to the need to keep young men busy and out of mischief. Today the YMCA serves over 20,000 people and is committed to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility.
United Way
Works with dozens of agencies and charitable organizations in Warren, Washington, and Northern Saratoga Counties to pool efforts in fundraising and support. By collaborating with a network of local non-profit organizations, Tri-County United Way delivers critical services and increases the power of our local charities. Tri-County United Way inspires hope, improving lives, and creating opportunities in the Tri-Country region every day.
